About Our Client:
Our client, a well-established and ambitious academy in Ipswich, is seeking a passionate and driven 2nd in Maths to join their dynamic Mathematics department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maths teacher who is ready to take on additional leadership responsibilities, supporting the Head of Department in driving forward achievement and innovation in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in leading the Maths department, supporting curriculum development and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach KS5.
- Support the Head of Department in monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment.
- Mentor and support colleagues, sharing best practices and contributing to staff development.
- Lead on specific initiatives to enhance student engagement and achievement in Maths.
- Help drive improvements in curriculum planning, assessment, and intervention strategies.
- Maintain high expectations for student behaviour and progress, in line with academy policies.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities such as Maths clubs, competitions, and trips.
Requirements:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum.
- The ability to inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
- Proven leadership skills or experience in a role with additional responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and whole-school improvement.
