Commissioning Editor

We are now looking for a commissioning editor to fix, research, commission and edit content for Saturday magazine.
This is an 8 month fixed term contract or staff secondment, 4 days per week, starting October 2024.
About the role- Fix and coordinate interviews, including cover interviews, with leading names from the worlds of film, music, TV, sport, fashion and politics
- Nurture a strong contacts book and relationships with publicists across a wide range of industries
- Come up with original ideas for features and interviews
- Make all necessary arrangements
- liaising with the picture desk, publicists, writer, etc
- once an interview has been set up
- Engage with community and social media teams
- At least one year's experience on a national/regional newspaper, magazine or website
- Commissioning and editing experience
- Excellent contacts
- Demonstrable enthusiasm for and interest in print and digital journalism
- Ideally, you’ll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role
