As an apprentice with CGL, you have the opportunity to grow and learn whilst earning. Our apprentices will have a starting salary of £14,815.33 during their first year. After 12 months, your earnings will adjust to match the National Minimum Wage for your age.

As an Apprentice Recovery Worker, you will play an important part in delivering inclusive, person-centred support to those accessing our services. While following Change Grow Live's policies and values, you will help ensure that everyone we work with feels respected, valued, and empowered.

You will also maintain confidentiality and uphold our commitment to equal opportunities, health, and safety for all staff, volunteers, and the people we support.

During your apprenticeship, you will be working towards the Level 3 Adult Care qualification over the duration of 15 months.

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Learn During Your Apprenticeship:

Throughout your apprenticeship, you’ll gain skills and experience in areas such as:

  • Supporting the recovery team in engaging with people experiencing substance use challenges, providing tailored advice, support, and recovery-focused interventions to meet their needs.
  • Building therapeutic relationships and delivering personalised care plans with training and support.
  • Participating in assessments and creating individualised recovery plans that outline clear, achievable goals to support progress and community reintegration.
  • Exploring service-based recovery communities and their role in promoting recovery.
  • Collecting and accurately recording information and data.
  • Understanding and applying risk assessments and management processes, including completing relevant documentation.
  • Collaborating with prescribing clinicians, nurses, psychologists, and other team members.
  • Learning to develop and access ‘recovery resources,’ as well as peer and mutual support groups, to help individuals build their own recovery strategies…and much more!

About You:

We’re looking for someone with:

  • An interest in the social care field, particularly in substance use and recovery.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to collaborate with managers, colleagues, and peers to achieve shared goals.
  • Effective time management and the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Familiarity with IT applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A commitment to personal and professional development, with a proactive approach to learning.
  • A passion for creating positive outcomes for the people we support and for yourself.

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
