Hays are working in partnership with a forward-thinking and reputable Local Authority based in Nottinghamshire who are seeking to appoint a fantastic Manager to oversee their Property, Estates and Facilities division and to lead, manage and deliver effective performance.

The ideal person will be an RICS Chartered Surveyor and have previous experience managing Property Management, Asset Management and Facilities Management Teams. Local Authority experience is not essential but is desirable.

The Business Manager - Asset Management position is paid a salary of between £54,573 and £58,077 and has a generous benefits package.

Your new role

You will take the lead on the Strategic Asset Management and the client-side function of the Councils corporate and commercial estate. You will carry out strategic reviews of the Council's corporate/commercial assets and land holdings and review life cycle costs and maintenance and the potential for redevelopment or disposal.
You will have oversight and manage the performance of the Council’s business enterprise centre as well as having oversight and management of the council’s operational premises including theatres, museums, leisure centres, 3 Leisure Centres and other key assets owned by the Council.
You will lead the Council’s corporate procurement of sustainable energy contracts and assist with the decarbonisation of the corporate and commercial estate and have oversight and management of all car parks and the lorry park owned by the council.

Your key responsibility will be to explore and implement revenue generation initiatives and cost-saving opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience: Significant experience in a senior managerial position in the public or private sector of issues that have strategic/significant impact and demonstrable experience and extensive knowledge of the management of facilities and property assets.

You will have demonstrable experience in strategic asset management and development.

Qualifications: A recognised qualification such as RICS is desirable.
