About the role:
This key role will be the technical lead responsible for investigating/resolving Net Debt activity for all customer portfolios.
The role holder will be an expert in knowing and anticipating what and why transactions exist on customer accounts. You will identify exceptions in processing and define solutions to continually develop, enhance and evolve operational process.
- Monitor and investigate the customer accounts portfolio, working to targets and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) measures for resolution and clearance of Net Debt transactions, ensuring tolerances are fully documented and understood.
- As an expert on SAP FI customer account management, act as an advisor to the wider business to resolve problems and implement optimum and collaborative ways of working.
- Identifying the refund of customer transactions within refund rules to enable authorisation and processing of refunds to the customer.
- Understand the interaction and impact of subsidiary systems on the main accounting systems to ensure system integrity, particularly in relation to specific balance sheet and profit and loss accounts
- Utilising robust root cause analysis techniques, identify process enhancements and participate in delivering specific training programs within VWFS operational areas to correct and prevent reoccurrence of transactional processing issues.
- Carry out analysis to deliver key operational/management information
- Provide subject matter knowledge to support IT with resolution of system related incidents and UAT support.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of sales ledger balance sheet accounts, work with key stakeholders to manage and clear aged items to ensure customer account integrity.
- Carry out key month end tasks, including analysis in accordance with the month end timetable.
About you:
- In depth knowledge of SAP FI is essential
- AAT Qualified or part qualified Accountant
- An understanding of the VWFS portfolio and a commercial awareness
- Be experienced in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, investigation and clearing of outstanding items
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly define and investigate complex business process issues
- Ability to interpret financial data and convert findings into recommendations and successful outcomes
- Organised and able to work flexibly and effectively under pressure in order to meet deadlines
- Methodical and disciplined approach to work
- Strong, confident and influential communicator able to collaborate with colleagues at all levels
- Self-motivated and a strong team player, motivated by new challenges
- Highly numeric with significant financial and commercial awareness
- Responsibility, reliability and accuracy in working practices is necessary to ensure business performance measures are achieved
- Creative thinker with the ability to produce original ideas to automate processes and deliver operational excellence.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications is essential with intermediate to advanced level Excel skills
