What's the job?:

Business decisions made using data are only as good as the data itself. This role is responsible for enabling B&Q to make smart use of customer data in everyday decision making by outlining and delivering the required data strategy and management practices.

This is a strategic role which will have evolving responsibilities as our capability and maturity develops – which you’ll absolutely be driving!

We believe industry will continue to lead AI developments, and therefore data quality, data governance, responsibility and ethics are paramount, especially whilst capability is growing faster than regulation. You’ll be leading the required data culture to embed this well across the business.

This is a data role and an influencer, rolled into one.

You’ll have strong relationships across the business, educating on the power of data available to them and how to turn this into both simple and transformational change. You’ll be a pillar in the B&Q data community, leading on data management, quality, availability and governance, bringing the community together on the journey.

This role makes sure our data and therefore our customers are being understood correctly, so that we can provide products and services our customers want. You’ll be helping to set ourselves up to be the European leader on home improvement behaviours, ultimately supporting the growth of our customer base, increasing omnichannel customer value and overall business performance.
