We have jobs for everyone, regardless of experience.Active Care Group invites applications for a part-time Consultant Neuropsychiatrist post, with a special interest in Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury Rehabilitation.
Applications from General Psychiatrists, Liaison Psychiatrists and other Consultant Psychiatrists with a specialist interest in Neuropsychiatry and/or Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation are welcome.The post is based at the Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre (FBIRC), the Level 1 specialist inter-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation centre serving the South West.

The centre operates within a joint working arrangement between North Bristol NHS Trust and Active Care Group.At FBIRC, the post-holder will divide the management of the 29 Level 1 and 23 Level 2 in-patients with the two Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine, depending on medical/psychiatric need.We are looking to appoint a consultant who will offer a high-quality clinical service for the rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain injury, provide clinical leadership to the inter-disciplinary team and play an integral role in the further development of rehabilitation pathways across the South West.

The successful candidate will be offered the opportunity to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and the development of academic and research interests will be encouraged.The site is part of the wider Active Care Group Neuro Network (consisting of 25+ sites) nationally and collaborates with local NHS services due to a joint working arrangement with North Bristol NHS Trust.

We focus on the use of clinical expertise, innovation and technology to meet patients/ rehabilitation goals.Our team works closely together to ensure that every team member is working towards the same practical, realistic goals and that all therapies are focused on the areas that enable patients to achieve those clearly defined goals.Conditions we support, but are not limited to:Acquired Brain InjuryAnoxic Brain InjuryBrain TumourComplex StrokeTraumatic Brain InjuryInflammatory and infective conditions What you/ll be doing ClinicalLeading the multidisciplinary team that undertakes assessments for admissions to the service within our partner acute hospitalsProviding outstanding neuropsychiatric care linked to national guidelines and working in collaboration with community mental health servicesLeading the multidisciplinary team in the care and treatment of our patients, including weekly ward round reviewLeading on MHA and MCA within the unitAttend family meetings, case review meetings and discharge planning meetings as requiredPractise evidence-based care through national standards and guidelinesProvide supervision to their allocated junior doctorPrepare for and participate in external reviews (CQC, Quality Network reviews); liaison with NHSE and participation in local networks and pathways Management Attendance, and contribution to, the Active Care Group Neuro clinical governance meetingParticipate in service development, through research, innovation and local auditContinue strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly our partners in the NHSSupervision and support of the site based junior doctorEngagement in National NetworksOngoing personal development through CPD and annual appraisal (and adhering to the GMC/s /"Good Medical Practice/") What you/ll have Full registration with GMC with licence to practiceMRPsych (Required)CCT in General Adult or Liaison Psychiatry or any other psychiatric CCT with evidence of experience working with adults with neuropsychiatric conditionsWorking within an inpatient rehabilitation setting treating those with neurological or brain injury (Desirable)Evidenced based practiceConfidence in engaging internal and external stakeholdersPatient centred, outcomes-based careWe also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions.
