The apprenticeship programme

Equipment Maintenance Engineering

Our Award-Winning Engineering apprenticeship programme is a 4-year Modern Apprenticeship. It was introduced by the company in 2007.

As an engineering apprentice you’ll work on a variety of state-of-the-art machinery, including robotics, vision systems, advanced PLC automation and control systems, as well as the more traditional Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Electrical disciplines.

To give you a flavour of what it’s like to be on our Apprenticeship Programme, hear from one of our Engineering apprentices:

“I’m currently in the final year of my Engineering Apprenticeship. It has been a fantastic experience through the programme so far. It’s providing me with the knowledge and skills to start my career in engineering. On the apprenticeship programme, I can study the theory as well as gain experience with the equipment and machines we have on site.

This is a great way to develop as I can apply the theory and knowledge learned in the classroom to practical situations in Lifescan. The whole engineering team are always keen to help the apprentices and share knowledge. I would highly recommend the Lifescan apprenticeship to anyone that would like a great start to an engineering career.”
