Complex Needs Teaching Assistant

Cardiff

Pay: £12.90-£13.20 per hour.

You will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with personal care, including toileting, feeding and other hygiene needs.
• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and support learning activities in the classroom.
• Foster a safe, positive, and supportive environment that respects the dignity and needs of all pupils.
• Monitor and record the progress of pupils, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents where necessary.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children or adults with complex needs or a willingness to learn.
• A compassionate and patient approach, with a strong commitment to supporting the needs of every child.
• The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
• A willingness to undertake training for tube feeding and other specialist care needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting students/ vulnerable adults with additional needs (e.g., CACHE Level 3 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
