  1. To carry own caseload of patients, as delegated by the Therapists and use own clinical judgement and knowledge within agreed competencies. 2. To carry out initial interviews with own caseload of patients on the ward and carryout ongoing treatment which may include washing and dressing, transfers and mobility practise 3. To agree the arrangements for assessment home visits with the occupational therapist which would require a qualified therapist to be present if the patient is being assessed and present during the visit. Environmental or follow up home visits may be carried out alone by the assistant depending on level of complexity of the case. 4. To assist the therapists in the care and maintenance of all therapy equipment used including cleaning treatment beds, equipment trolleys and table tops. 5. To keep equipment storage areas tidy within the Therapy Department and other therapy treatment areas. 6. To assist with clerical duties such as answering the phone, taking messages, processing referrals and booking appointments as appropriate and maintaining paper work as required in the relevant area.
