The Deputy Director, Supply Chain leads and manages all supply chain management (SCM) strategy, development and operational staff and activities acrosstheTrust.ThepostholderistheTrust’ssenior SCMsubject matterexpert and a senior, dedicated point of contact for the Trust Divisions, Corporate Directorates and other key stakeholders requiring SCM services and support.
The Deputy Director Supply Chain is responsible for leading and delivering the Trust’s supply chain transformation program, supporting the Director in the development and implementation of the wider Procurement and Supply Chain transformation strategy, which is required to deliver against the Trust identified benefits and value outcomes
To lead, manage and develop a highly complex and extensive operational Supply Chain service across all OUH sites, on-site, this includes Materials Management, Stock Management and Receipt and Distribution functions.
To understand the key strategic priorities for the Trust and initiate, develop and delivercommercial,strategicallyintegratedsupplychainsthatsupportandenable the delivery of the Trust’s objectives, in accordance with the broader P&SC and Trust Strategies.
To lead, manage and develop a large team (50+) of people geographically dispersed across all 4 of the Trust’s main sites.
Delivery of an effective, efficient and sustainable supply chain management (SCM) service to customers across the Trust, and
to those others who rely on the supply chain to support the OUH mission.

Carry out contract management activities for key suppliers that provide services that align with supply chain operations, providing opportunities to deliver improved services (transformation of Supply chain services)
Development of the team in terms of skills and capability building, resourcing, talent management and succession planning, establishing a coaching and mentoringlearningprocessandutilisingtheTrustapprenticeshipschemetobesteffect.
The leadership, management, development and performance of the Trust-wide supply chain team and supporting the training, development and succession planningacrosstheteam–andinparticularpro-activelymanageandsupportthe development of any direct reports.
Buildingtrust-basedsupportiverelationshipswithstakeholders acrossandbeyond the Trust, and developing and agreeing SLAs and KPIs with all customer areas aligning with organisational aims of providing high quality patient car

Provide line management for members of the SCM staff, and depute for colleaguesinthisrespectwhenrequired, includingrecruitment,induction, disciplinary, performance improvement and grievance processes.
Leads the development and management of the supply chain function’s business continuity and disaster recovery plan and procedures, ensuring regular knowledge sharing and plan testing is carried out.
To explore and exploit opportunities for collaborative working internally and externally, and pro-actively network with key current and future suppliers, professional bodies and local, regional, and national supply chain colleagues.
Delivery of savings targets in line with departmental and Shared Service requirements and supporting the delivery of a balanced budget at year-end.
