Locum Consultant Plastic Surgeon

This is a full time (10 PA) post. The post holder will work as a member of a team of Consultant Plastic Surgeons, based at the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust with opportunities to have commitments in Solihull Hospitals. University Hospital Birmingham is the Regional Burns and Plastic Surgery Centre for the West Midlands providing adult services in Burns, Hand Surgery, Breast Reconstruction, Skin Oncology, Lower Limb Trauma, Sarcoma and Head and Neck surgery.
The post holder will be a part of the Breast Reconstruction team and will work closely with the Breast Surgery team. The unit provides a high-volume DIEP flap service, and the work will cover all aspects of OncoPlastic and Breast Reconstruction surgery.
Main Duties of the job The post holder will be working independently providing the full array of Breast Reconstruction, as well as working collaboratively with consultant Breast Reconstruction and Breast Surgery colleagues at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Solihull Hospital.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to departmental teaching and support juniors with projects leading to publications and presentations. Funding is available for approved study leave as defined in the Trust study leave policy.

The on-all duties are one in ten at Queen Elizabeth Hospital The post holders will be expected to participate in the OncoPlastic MDT and departmental consultant meetings and partake in audits, quality improvement projects and clinical governance, as well as continuing professional development.
