Legal Counsel - Manchester
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently across a range of products and services, identifying and managing risk, providing solutions, and planning for regulatory changes.
What you'll do:
As VP (Legal Counsel) for the Customer Team, you will play an essential role in ensuring that consumer banking activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. Further to this you will:
- Offer proactive consumer banking legal advice and support
- Represent the organisation in legal proceedings related to consumer banking
- Draft and periodically review legal documents to ensure compliance with laws and regulation
- Develop and deliver training programmes to educate employees on legal requirements related to consumer banking
- Proactively identify, communicate, and provide legal advice on applicable laws, rules, and regulations
What you bring:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, business acumen, and legal practices
- Experience in risk management, regulatory change management, consumer protection
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents
