Our Library Clerk will assist in maintaining a high standard of support service to the directorates and departments throughout Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, with their requirements regarding patients’ case notes.
Main duties of the job- Delivering high volumes of patient records to various departments around the Hospital
- Adhering to the Health Records delivery schedule
- Involve repetitive heavy lifting of patient records in boxes and bags
- When working in the library there will be an expectation to retrieve and file
- Ability to work under pressure both independently and as a team player

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- Maintain accuracy when pulling and filing case notes within the Health Records Library
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Pulling and filing of case notes within the Health Records Library
- Tracering, sending and delivering case notes in Medical Records boxes/bags
- Delivering and collecting case notes from various pick up points throughout the hospital
- Moving boxes of records to dispatch areas
- Answer and action requests from the A&E telephone
- Cover the service desk and action requests
- Locating misfiled notes within the Records Library

Essential criteria- Excellent communication skills and telephone manner
- The ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to work under pressure
- NHS Experience
Qualifications and training
Essential criteria- Good level of general education
- Basic knowledge of computerised systems
- Keyboard skills
- Full driving licence
