This is an exciting opportunity to join the Diabetes Department at the RUH, Bath.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our fantastic team and help us make a positive difference for our patients.
The post holder will be a key member of the Diabetes pump service, providing full and comprehensive support and high level administration to the Team. This role will support the Diabetes Specialist Nurse team to manage patient pump and specialist technology warranties, management of consumables and pump ordering, co-ordination of technology training, facilitation between manufactures and the Diabetes Nursing team.
The post holder will work alongside consultants and key stakeholders to assist with the implementation of processes and projects that support the future goals and expectations of the Adult Diabetes Pump Service, with involvement in the implementation of the procurement framework.
Main duties of the job- Arrange and facilitate the management of pump and specialist technology renewal sessions, liaising with individual representatives, making amendments when necessary, dealing with cancellations.
- Managing Adult Diabetes pump renewal appointments at the RUH, ensuring these are booked through SystmOne and that any missed/cancelled appointments are rescheduled accordingly.
- This role will also need to work with the Diabetes Nurse Specialist and representative to ensure that the outcomes of pump renewals are recorded electronically.
- Event management in the organisation of meetings, specifically pump introduction sessions and technology training sessions, co-ordinating with the nursing team to ensure these are utilised.
- Ensure all relevant pre-information is sent to patients prior to any training sessions.
- Documentation development, audit and maintenance of the Diabetes Nurse Specialists SystmOne activity requiring extensive use of Microsoft office, including Excel, Word and
- Responsible for accurate ordering for all patients medical pumps, specialist technology and associated consumables, tailored to individual patient needs.
- Managing warranty list with the Lead Diabetes Specialist Nurse to ensure technology orders are initiated in advance of equipment expiry.
- To facilitate the entire ordering pathway, this includes recording requisition and purchase order data and accurately ensuring all appropriate ordering documentation is completed and sent within a timely manner.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria- Significant previous secretarial/administrative experience
- Experience within the NHS or similar health care setting
- Experience of working within the diabetes speciality, specifically diabetes technology
Specific Skills
Essential criteria- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
- Evidence of Keyboard skills
- Evidence of ability to communicate with all levels of staff and members of the public
Qualification & Training
Essential criteria- Educated to GCSE pass level or CSE equivalent qualification.
- Evidence of good literacy and numeracy skills
- Word processing / audio typing qualifications or RSA level II or equivalent
- Understanding of administration processes to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent knowledge and experience
- AMSPAR qualification
