We are looking for a full time 37.5pw Band 2 Booking Officer/ Secretary to join our Urology team.
For the booking officer role you will work within a multi-disciplinary team, and be responsible for a range of duties related to patient pathway management, booking appointments, dealing with telephone queries, emails, liaising with all medical professionals.For the Support Secretary role you will work with other Senior medical Secretaries to support the consultant team with duties such as typing, dealing with telephone queries, emails and booking appointments.
You should be literate and numerate, with excellent organisational, time management and IT skills and an ability to work without supervision.. You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels.You will have enthusiasm, motivation and demonstrate pride in your work.

Experience
Essential criteria- Experienced in general office administration duties.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Experience of working on own initiative.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Experience of working to deadlines and keeping systems up to date.
- Relevant Typing experience
- Previous experience working within a stock control environment.
Skills
Essential criteria- Able to exercise own initiative when dealing with issues within own area of competence.
- Able to concentrate when subject to unpredictable working patterns
- High standard of communication skills (written & verbal).
- Good customer care and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literate and accurate keyboard skills.
- Demonstrate the ability of working flexibly.
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Basic knowledge of IT systems and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of employment procedure and practices. National standards, e.g. ISO9001:20015, health and safety in workshop areas, RIDDOR, COSHH.
Qualifications
Essential criteria- 4 GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths, NVQ level 2 or *equivalent.
- An appropriate speed and accuracy of typing is required for this role and this will be assessed at interview
- Shorthand / Speed writing/ Minute taking qualifications.
