We are a CAMHS hospital school set within an 18 bed Low Secure psychiatric setting, within Potters Bar Clinic Hospital. We are part of a larger private healthcare company run by Elysium Healthcare, who are committed to providing the best possible education for those in our care.
Our pupils are aged between 13 and 18 and are with us for a range of mental health issues that require usually a short stay within a low secure setting. As part of their stay and recovery patients are able when well enough to access the education provision we provide.This allows them to keep up with their studies which is instrumental in helping our pupils reintegrate back into mainstream settings or going on to further education. We have a well-equipped and resourced school. Each teacher and pupil are assigned a lap- top.
All pupils are taught in small groups.
We are looking for a well-qualified Teacher of English to join our specialised teaching team. Some special school experience is preferred although not essential. You will be teaching small groups of up to five pupils. Part of this role will be responsibility for literacy provision.There may also be a pastoral Key teacher role available. This is an important role in which the successful applicant will be responsible for various aspects of the pupil's integration within our school, this links the hospital and the pupil's health care with the education department and may involve liaising with the clinical team and attending appropriate meetings as required.
