Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic and growing finance team at a pivotal time for the business. As the Head of Transactional Finance, you will be responsible for leading a sizable team within Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), driving operational excellence, and implementing cutting-edge technologies and process improvements.You will play a critical role in transforming the finance function, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with the business’s strategic goals. This is a leadership role where your influence will shape the future of our finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development- Lead and inspire a sizable team across both AR and AP functions, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Develop, mentor, and manage a team of diverse talents, setting clear objectives and encouraging continuous development and improvement.
- Drive performance management plans, creating a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Build a collaborative, inclusive team environment that motivates individuals to thrive while meeting both departmental and business goals.
- Take ownership of identifying and implementing process improvements across AR and AP workflows, focusing on reducing inefficiencies and optimizing productivity.
- Leverage cutting-edge technologies to streamline financial operations, automate repetitive tasks, and drive innovation.
- Work closely with the wider finance team and cross-functional partners to document and standardize best practices, ensuring that operations are streamlined and aligned with the company’s objectives.
- Champion the use of advanced financial systems and tools, utilizing the latest technologies to improve accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Oversee the implementation of new tech solutions aimed at driving efficiency, reducing manual work, and delivering real-time financial insights.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of new platforms and systems.
- Lead efforts in managing aged debtors and resolve complex credit issues, working cross-functionally to ensure prompt collections and minimise risk.
- Monitor and report on AR performance, ensuring all metrics are met, and communicate results to senior leadership.
- Continuously refine the cash collection process to improve the team’s effectiveness and reduce outstanding debt.
- Oversee the AP team, ensuring that all invoicing, supplier reconciliations, and payments are completed on time and accurately.
- Drive improvements in supplier management processes and oversee the accurate matching of goods received, delivery notes, and invoices.
- Ensure all aspects of the AP process are automated, where possible, for greater efficiency.
- Lead the smooth running of the month-end process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for AR and AP.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and ensure all financial entries are aligned for seamless trial balance submission.
- Take ownership of cash flow monitoring and bank reconciliations across all currencies to support decision-making and meet business needs.
