You will join the established multi-disciplinary community mental health team (CMHT), based at Barnett & Bentley House in Bolton. The CMHT provides a specialist mental health service to adults of working age and their carers across Bolton.

The post holder will work alongside the named care coordinators and wider MDT. The post holder will be required to work weekends, bank holidays and duty on a rota basis.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will hold a caseload of service users who’s needs are around Occupational identity, performance and participation. They will provide assessment and intervention aimed at improving these areas in order for the service users to live the lives they want and need.

You would be required to work weekends, occasional bank holidays and duty on a rota basis.

This is an exciting time to join the team as the Trust is developing its Occupational Therapy pathways in line with forward thinking Community Transformation plans, which support our professionals to practice in a way which closely aligns to their professional training and backgrounds.

You will be provided with a full range of mandatory training and CPD opportunities with a particular emphasis on developing skills within the Model of Human Occupation.

We have an involved and supportive professional lead for AHP in Bolton and an enthusiastic Director of AHP’s for GMMH.

Experience

• Demonstrable experience of working as a qualified Occupational Therapist
• Providing Occupational Therapy in a mental health setting
• Using a variety of Occupational vocational assessments
• Identifying barriers to goal achievement
• Planning and carrying out evidence based interventions

• Experience of working in a range of mental health settings
• Personal experience of mental health issues
• Experience of working in a community setting.
• Experience of supervising support staff

Education

• Diploma/Degree In Occupational Therapy
• Registration with HCPC
