We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a pharmacy assistant to provide a high quality service to patients, Healthcare Professionals, other service users and Pharmacy staff to support the service the Pharmacy department provides trust wide.
Attention to detail is essential, as is an ability to work well with other members of the Pharmacy team. Good communication skills and a willingness to learn is important and the post would be ideal for someone who is looking to start a career in Hospital Pharmacy.
A good standard of education (to GCSE level) would be advantageous.
Candidates should ideally possess NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Service skills or a recognised equivalent qualification, but training can be given if necessary.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include receiving inpatient prescriptions, answering the phone and dispensary hatch, processing returned medicines, maintaining good stock levels in the dispensary, delivering medicines and other general house-keeping duties.
Please note this role will involve heavy lifting and it is essential that you work in accordance with SOPs, Health and Safety and adhere to the Trust waste management policy at all times, ensuring the working environment is kept clean and tidy.
Please note this post is subject to a probationary period of 6 months.

Essential criteria- Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
Qualifications
Essential criteria- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or be prepared to study and be assessed for NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
- Minimum of GCSE English, Mathematics and Science Grade C or above or new GCSEs grades 4 to 9 (or equivalent)
