Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it.Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions.
Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.
In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Senior Programme Manager – King’s Health Partners
One year fixed term contract – two posts available 1 x maternity cover 1 x secondment cover
We are looking for experienced Senior Programme Manager’s to join our King’s Health Partners team hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
We currently have two posts available. Both of which will work with clinical, academic and operational leaders to drive the evolution of clinical academic activities across the partnership in line with KHPs refreshed Strategy due to launch in Spring 2025.
Main duties of the job- A 12-month fixed term (secondment cover) post providing senior programme leadership across our partnerships and programmes team. This role will play a key role in shaping and driving forward KHP’s population health strategic objective, supporting clinical academic collaborations, and maximising benefits of international partnerships.
- A 12-month fixed term (maternity cover) post providing senior leadership across our King’s Health Partners Diabetes, Endocrinology and Obesity (KHP DEO) and Women’s and Children’s Health (KHP WCH) Clinical Academic Partnerships. This role will work with the KHP DEO Programme Director and KHP WCH Head of Programmes to:
o Operationalise the KHP DEO research priorities and clinical and workforce transformation frameworks – focused on leveraging benefits of clinical academic integration to address health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing for people living with diabetes, obesity and endocrine disorders
o Build education and training pipelines including bitesize courses and research skills training across both KHP DEO and KHP WCH partnerships who share a joint education and training manager.
o Support the KHP WCH Head of Programmes to co-create and drive KHP WCH's strategy towards 2030.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Both roles provide exciting opportunities to be part of passionate inter-disciplinary teams and partnerships focused on driving population health and addressing inequalities through clinical academic collaboration.
You will have a strong emphasis on both strategy and delivery and the post holders will be expected to deputise for the Programme Director/Head of Programmes as needed. The post-holders will also have line management responsibilities and be able to lead multi-disciplinary teams and role model collaborative leadership and equality, diversity and inclusion.
You will develop and be responsible for monitoring and reporting on key success metrics across each of the programmes and drive engagement and co-production with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve these. This requires significant work to be completed in planning, organisational and partnership development, implementation of new ways of working and delivery, engagement and networking, and continuous improvement/evaluation.
The postholders will influence change both within and across organisations, as well as further afield, to improve innovative practice and the experiences and outcomes for service users and staff. This roles will involve some complex negotiation with senior directors, managers and frontline staff at both an operational and strategic level.
Person specification
Qualifications/Education
Essential criteria- Relevant Masters / MBA, equivalent professional qualification or equivalent experience. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) to practitioner level or equivalent Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development.
Previous Experience
Essential criteria- Extensive programme management experience in large complex organisations, including design, development, implementation and management of change in a multiple stakeholder environment.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria- Expert knowledge of operations and / or programme management methodologies and techniques
