Company client is working with a global reinsurance client in London on a permanent position due to business expansion for a Senior Reinsurance Accountant.I am looking to speak with professionals from either practice or industry with a strong understanding of the insurance/reinsurance industry. As mentioned above this is a brand new role for a new function with our client and would be good for a professional that would like to build something from the ground up.
Responsibilities below (not limited to):- Ownership of the Reinsurance Finance Close plan and reporting up to the general Finance Close Manager.
- Ownership of all Reinsurance Finance Interfaces as well as finance inputs for upstream and downstream interfaces into and out of the Reinsurance platform.
- Ownership of the Reinsurance System Chart of accounts.
- Preparation and review of the Reinsurance to GL reconciliations.
- Preparation of Subledger Reinsurance Journals including earnings.
- Preparation of all out of subledger system Reinsurance Journals (G/L journals).
- Preparation of Reinsurance Analytical Reviews.
- Respond to all Reinsurance Audit Queries related to the RI finance processes including account reconciliations.
- Assisting with the finance responsibilities linked to the RI migration project such as conversion reconciliations, balance sheet remediation, and establishing and running the new finance close process.
- You must be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Have a knowledge and strong understanding of an insurance P&L.
- Knowledge of either Solvency II or IFRS 17.
- Have used one of the listed systems - Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP and DocuSign.
