School Caretaker/Estate Worker

SCHOOL CARETAKER/ESTATES WORKER

£24,300 PER ANNUM PLUS ON CALL ALLOWANCE

• Responsible for security of all buildings and equipment, ensuring that all visitors report to reception
• Set up furniture for assemblies/annual examinations & raise/replace chairs in dining room to allow floor cleaning
• Clearing of paths & drains around buildings, including snow and ice clearance
• Update Cleaning Supervisor about any cleaning issues
• Undertake urgent cleaning tasks when cleaners not on site or available
• Routine operation of the heating, lighting and ventilation systems
• Monitoring, testing & adjustment of swimming pool water & plant room.
• Daily monitoring for Health and Safety defects/issues including fire equipment and notices
• Minor maintenance issues/repairs – ie unblocking of toilets, sinks & drains
• Support the safeguarding of pupils and report any concerns
• General duties such as garden work, litter picking, locker maintenance and fire alarm testing

• Working occasional overtime outside of normal working hours; evening, sports & special events, Saturdays [term time 1 in 4]. Occasional Sundays
• Provide overnight emergency on call cover, [1 week in 4], from 1930-0600 weekdays and all weekend. Liaise with external security companies if required

• Previous experience of working in a similar role would be required
• Excellent communication skills and highly organised
• A dedicated and flexible approach to work
• Applicants must pass an enhanced DBS check

Further training swill be provided for COSHH & National Pool Plant Operators qualification
