Electrical and Instrumentation E&I Supervisor
We are looking for our next Electrical and Instrument Supervisor, to lead and supervise teams of E & I personnel and Electrical/Instrument Contractors. Your supervision of the team will ensure they are engaged in the repair, maintenance, installation and commissioning of fixed equipment and plant associated with LondonEnergy.

LondonEnergyoperates the second largest waste contract in the UK, handling and processing nearly 750,000 tonnes of London's waste every year. We have a dedicated team of people working across our various North London sites, making a positive difference to the environment and the local community.
By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres.
Responsibilities:
Technical- To identify plant and process related problems and arrange labour and materials to carry out necessary repairs, maintenance, installation and commissioning on all Electrical and Instrument plant.
- Ensure the Planned maintenance of equipment is carried out in accordance with the specifications of the job following manufacturers guidelines where applicable. To update stores and extend the PPM system and specifications as equipment is updated / installed.
- To provide technical support both in and out of normal hours. This may include a hands on approach where necessary to ensure the safe and efficient running of the plant.
- When required to assist in the design of appropriate equipment and solutions to electrical, instrument and electronic issues.
- Assist in setting departmental guidelines to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant and equipment working within company safety, environmental and quality policies - actively taking part to obtain a zero accident culture.
- To identify plant and process related problems, and provide solutions in consultation with the Electrical Engineering Manager with respect to eliminating / reducing such problems.
- To co-ordinate/supervise Contractors in accordance with internal and external standards/legislation to ensure work meets quality and safety controls.
- To enforce all site regulations, agreements and disciplinary procedures and deputise for the Electrical Engineering Manager in his absence.
- You may be called on site on occasion outside normal working hours to provide necessary technical guidance / hands on support.
- Should have strong electrical skills and a working knowledge of instrumentation would be an advantage.
- Preferably have completed a recognised apprenticeship and be qualified to a minimum of Electrical City & Guilds but HNC in Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
- A source of engineering expertise is needed to supervise and set guidelines to routine maintenance, installation, commissioning, fault finding, trouble-shooting and rectifying processes and plant equipment.
- Should be familiar with a range of control systems including PLC equipment (ideally Allen Bradley), AC drives and HV equipment and distribution systems. Knowledge of analysis and repair of pneumatic systems would be a distinct advantage.
- Significant experience of supervising technically qualified and experienced craftsmen, technicians and engineers, gained in a heavy engineering environment with experience of working to tight deadlines.
Working knowledge of current IEE wiring regulations and P.A.T.
