About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and committed Disability Adviser to provide expert advice, guidance, and support to disabled students, including those with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD). You will play a key role in ensuring students receive the necessary adjustments, support, and access to resources to help them succeed in their studies.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Provide tailored support to students with disabilities, including mental health conditions and learning difficulties.✅ Assist students in applying for Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA) and implementing recommended support.
✅ Manage a caseload of students, ensuring their individual needs are met effectively.
✅ Offer training and guidance to university staff on disability-related support and adjustments.
✅ Develop and maintain resources, policies, and procedures for disability support services.
✅ Stay up to date with sector developments and best practices in supporting disabled students.
About You
✔ Experience: Proven background in disability support, preferably in Higher Education.✔ Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Equality Act 2010, DSA funding, and reasonable adjustments for students.
✔ Skills: Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
✔ Tech: Proficiency in IT tools (Word, Excel, databases) and experience with assistive technology.
✔ Approach: Empathetic, proactive, and able to manage complex caseloads with discretion.
