Job overview

The post is based in the Rheumatology Department at Airedale
General Hospital. Some clinics are undertaken at different sites
such as at Skipton hospital
The post holder will undertake outpatient clinics independently/
autonomously, review inpatient referrals, manage day case
patients and work with the multidisciplinary team (if part time
working, will predominantly be outpatient clinics with little
commitment to inpatient referrals).
The department has proactively developed services to improve
patient care and experience including setting up of telephone
clinics, e-consultation service, and group counselling clinics for
both bDMARDs and sDMARDs. We have developed a bespoke
DMARD monitoring system on SystmOne (primary electronic
healthcare record). Advise line calls and tasking between the
clinical teams is done via SystmOne and this has improved
response times and efficiency. The post holder will be expected to
be actively involved in managing all these services. There is good
multidisciplinary team support. The trust provides telemedicine
service (remote consultations) for multiple prisons in the UK.
On appointment, the clinical lead will discuss and finalize the job
plan. The admin time per clinic would be 0.5 (0.25 standard clinic
admin + additional admin generated by advice line/CNS queries; long term disease/DMARD queries.). There are regular MDT
meetings weekly (rheumatology/ radiology MDT and rheumatology
team internal MDT) which the post holder is expected to

participate actively in.
