We are looking for an experienced team leader who is passionate about children and families receiving the right help at the right time, by the most appropriate service to act as our Early Help Team Leader in the MASH team.

MASH acts as a single front door for all children’s safeguarding concerns in addition to requests and referrals for support via our targeted Early Help services in Bury Council. The MASH is made up of professionals from the police, education, health, and others, our MASH offers a multi-agency approach when dealing with children’s safeguarding.

This ensures that information across all our partner agencies is shared and acted upon quickly, with referrals reaching the right social care, early help or universal services when needed.

You will work as part of a dynamic multi-agency integrated team assessing notifications, referrals and requests for support from our targeted Early help team regarding children aged 0 18 (up to 25 for SEND). You will directly line manage three Early Help practitioners who are based within the MASH and will be responsible for reviewing referrals / requests for support, providing management direction to enable the practitioners to screen requests.

The role of the Early Help Team Leader in MASH primarily supports the early help function in the MASH from final decision-making ownership, case load weighting and allocation, through to case discussions, service development, and partnership working.

The role of the team leader is critical to ensuring good outcomes for children, young people and their families. We are interested in hearing from individuals who have a good understanding of the Early Help approach, and targeted Early Help services.

Experience of working within a MASH environment would be advantageous, but not essential.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
