We are looking for a Renal Outpatient Coordinator to join us to provide efficient waiting list management and appointment booking service for the renal department.

The post holder is responsible for the provision of an outpatient appointment booking service using a computerised patient administration system and e-referral service.

This will involve liaison with patients, medical staff and service managers to ensure that patients are seen within their appropriate target dates an that clinic templates are managed to full capacity.

The post holder will have the responsibility of managing the departments waiting lists and clinic booking summaries whilst providing a confidential, efficient and user-friendly service.

Main duties of the job

This role also requires the post holder to assist with data quality checks, ensuring all patients have had their appropriate appointments scheduled in accordance with their management plan and to support the service management team to identify areas that require improvements and will provide administrative support to MDT meetings for the onward plans for patients clinical pathways.

The post holder is responsible for the provision of an Outpatient Waiting lists service to all users including patients, GPs, secretaries, Medical and Nursing teams and Services Managers. Ensuring Trust guidelines, policies and procedures regarding confidentiality, disclosure of information and Data Protection are observed at all times.

To highlight any potential delays and problems within the templates and booking system.

To develop good working relationships with all service users.

To undertake training to ensure they are fully aware of the Booking and Waiting List Targets nationally and locally.

To undertake training to ensure they are fully aware of the Patient Access Policy for the Trust.

Ensure letters are sent to patients and General Practitioners at the appropriate time intervals informing them of the appointment booking service.

Arrange regular meetings with Service Managers to review service performance, agreeing appropriate action to be taken.

Attend Directorate meetings as appropriate to communicate service performance and to raise issues that may require team thinking to resolve.
