The NED role is a full voting Board Member and you will be expected to take significant roles in Board meetings and Board committees, including chairing meetings as needed. A NED role could be suitable for an experienced NED or someone who has not been a NED in the NHS before.

You will need to have a genuine commitment to patients and the promotion of excellent health care services.
You will have practical senior level experience, ideally working in an Acute or Community Clinical Care setting and hold a Clinical Professional Registration such as RCN, NMC, HCPC, AHP or GMC.
As a future NHS leader, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they meet the NHS leadership competency framework for board members (please see the candidate information pack below for the six domains). The competency domains are aligned to Our NHS People Promise, Our Leadership Way and the Seven Principles of Public Life (Nolan Principles).
