Salary: Grade G - £36,648 to £40,221 per year (pro-rata for part time working) (pay award pending)
Hours: *Up to 37 hours per week
Type: Permanent
Location: Long Eaton Town Hall, Derby Road, Long Eaton, Derbyshire, NG10 1HU. Hybrid working available.
- The post is advertised as up to 37 hours per week, however the number of hours per week, working pattern and work location can be agreed with the successful candidate. This can include arrangements to work predominantly from home.
We are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Planning Officer to join our customer focussed and proactive award-winning Development Management team.
The Senior Planning Officer will be specifically responsible for the delivery of strategic planning applications emanating from the council’s emerging Core Strategy Review. These include emerging proposals for an 80ha employment site at the New Stanton, and a 1,200 home urban extension of Kirk Hallam, in addition to other major and significant planning applications.

Our ambitious and focused work includes the delivery of around 6,600 new homes through the Erewash Core Strategy Review.
About You
You will need experience of dealing with a wide, diverse, and interesting range of applications and associated work and have a problem-solving and proactive approach to delivering quality outcomes including complex and major applications.
As a committed team player, you need good written and verbal communication skills. Dealing with customers is an important part of the role and you must be dedicated to providing high quality customer service.
You must be eligible to be a full member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and hold a diploma or degree in Town Planning or equivalent.
