Responsibilities:

Position Purpose: The Operational Risk Intern works within the EMEA Operational Risk Management Team. The role focuses on Operational Risk Excellence across the firm, developing and promoting the Operational Risk Management Framework. The role is based in London and covers all departments within the UK Entity.

The role holder oversees and challenges departments across the firm, focusing on their management of operational risk and how it affects the risk profile of the firm.

The role sits within the 2nd line of defense and promotes the robust ownership of Risks & Controls within the business.

Primary duties will include but not limited to:

  • Contribute to the coordination of the Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) process. Including guiding the 1st line of defense trough the assessment, providing 2nd line challenge on key risks, and consolidating results for management reporting.
  • Provide guidance and challenge on Operational Risk Incidents. Oversee the way incidents are logged, understood, and reflected upon in the business.
  • Deliver insightful risk analysis; support the Senior Operational Risk Managers developing key risk indicators/analytics

Qualifications:

Coding language requirement

Not mandatory but recommended: skills in coding (SQL) and data visualization software (PowerBI).

Early Careers Requirements
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a relevant program and graduating between December 2025 and 2026 (entering penultimate year of university)
  • Available for a June 2025 start date for a 10-week program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (preferably Excel)
  • Must be authorized to work in the UK for any employer
