Occupational Health Screening Technician - British Engines

A vacancy has arisen for a part time Occupational Health Screening Technician to assist with the health surveillance assessment programme.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to expand their skills and experience in a supportive environment. You will be required to provide an occupational health surveillance and screening service under the direction of the nurse specialist.

What you’ll be doing
  • Undertake health surveillance screening including audiometry, skin inspections, lung function, HAVS T1 &T2 and general baseline measurements such as blood pressure height and weight
  • Review fitness for lone/remote working, working at height, night work, confined space entry and operating safety critical machinery and vehicles
  • Ensure screening procedures are undertaken within legislative and company policies
  • Ensure all medical information is accurately recorded in the occupational health records and passed to the relevant clinical staff
  • Ensure all recall outcomes are recorded on the OH IT system
  • Undertake and support additional tasks as requested such as health promotion activities
  • Provide support to the wider occupational health team in helping the department run efficiently, undertaking non-clinical tasks as requested e.g. Filing/tidying etc
  • Communicate accurate clinical information to nursing and medical staff to enable them make sound clinical decisions about patient management

Who we are looking for

To apply, we are looking for someone who ideally has a health related background such as a Health Care Assistant, Military Medic, Ambulance Technician, Paramedic or a Graduate in Sports Science. Occupational health experience is desirable, although training will be provided to develop any relevant skills.

A strong customer service focus and approachability when conducting surveillance appointments would also be a must for this role.

Excellent IT skills including excel, outlook and word are essential as is the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.

We ask that you have a full UK driving licence and you must have your own vehicle as you will be required to travel to local company sites.

Hours of work for this role would be worked over 3 days a week (22.5 hours) – normally Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, however consideration can be given to flexibility around the days of work.

Salary is dependent on experience between £23,000 and £27,000 pro rota

Employment is subject to a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
