Our client is a well-respected, organisation in the not-for-profit sector, based in Reading and looking for someone on a part time basis with a passion for the charity sector.
Job Description
The part-time Finance Director responsibilities include:
- Oversight and governance of finance operations
- Maintaining appropriate financial and operational controls, instituting necessary new or additional controls as per best practices, including periodic reporting on control/risk assessment matters to the Finance & Investment (F&l) Committee.
- Overall responsibility for the production of the quarterly income reports for F&l & Board meetings.
- Overall responsibility for the production of the annual report and accounts.
- 4% income check on endowment at beginning of Financial Year and submit proposal to F&l to ensure we meet our Grant requirements.
- Breakdown of fund development, working with CEO to confirm recurring income information is included into Budget.
- Annual renewal- discuss annual calculation based on 3 year endowment values.
- Community First annual drawdown- discuss opportunity with CEO and F&l Committee.
- Produce monthly Dashboard for CEO.
- GDPR Compliance.
- Regularly updating Strategic plan for the Board.
- Provide quarterly update to board.
- Overseeing Monthly Payroll.
- Reviewing changes in legislation for Finance function.
- Lead F&l quarterly committee meetings.
- Ensure Financial assessments are completed by Finance team for each Grant application.
- Responsibility for maintaining Risk Register with the Governance Trustee.
The Successful Applicant
We are looking for a Part time Finance Director/ Head of Finance/ Financial Controller level individual that is local to Reading and available on a part-time basis for a small charity. The position is offered on a 3 or 4 day per week basis.You will need to be a fully qualified accountant or have extensive experience in a number 1 finance position if you are not qualified.You will have experience of managing staff, ideally understand SORP accounts and be available at short notice.This is a 3-6 month temporary assignment offered on a monthly rolling basis.Maximum FTE salary is £60,000.UK right to work is required.
