As health care professionals we have the privilege of looking after those who can’t always look after themselves, for some it’s a short stay as they recover from the acute phase of their illness and for others its providing care when they need it most and giving them dignity at the end of their lives.
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you play a vital role in our patients care, and within the Medicine care group we cover a variety of specialities. These range from acute admission areas to wards such as cardiology, respiratory, gastroenterology and elderly wards which include acute stroke and stroke rehab.
As a Healthcare Support Worker at York Hospital, you will be part of a multi-professional team providing high standards of care to our patients. You will maintain and promote patient independence and dignity to ensure each patient receives a positive experience.Please see the attached document ‘Healthcare Support Worker Key Duties’ to see a full list of key duties.
As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will be expected to work a combination of shifts including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays:
- Early – 07:00-15:00
- Late – 12:00 - 20:00
- Long Day – 07:00 - 20:00
- Night – 19:30 - 07:30
Please be aware that you must be able to attend a full time induction programme for the first 4 weeks in your new role, this must be within 3 months of your interview date.
