The Risk Manager, Innovation supports Global Security Risk Management & Resilience by leading initiatives that transform complex risk-related data into actionable insights across Amazon’s worldwide operations. This role blends traditional risk management expertise with advanced analytics, utilizing technology and automation to significantly enhance risk identification, assessment, and response capabilities.Key responsibilities include designing robust data integration systems, implementing predictive risk models, and driving technological innovation to ensure risk insights are timely, accurate, and strategically actionable
Key job responsibilities- Lead strategic innovation projects, including the implementation of global data centralization and automation initiatives, to enhance GRMR’s risk, resilience, and business continuity capabilities.
- Collaborate on optimizing risk data pipelines ensuring accurate global and regional risk insights.
- Integrate advanced analytics, predictive modeling, AI, and machine learning to enhance risk assessment accuracy, streamline processes, and support real-time monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with global and regional stakeholders, engineers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to identify, resolve, and prevent data inefficiencies, system integration challenges, and reporting inaccuracies.
- Provide strategic oversight of risk management databases and technology platforms, driving continuous improvement, scalability, and high performance across GRMR.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to advance GRMR’s risk, resilience, and business continuity objectives.
A day in the life
The Risk Manager, Innovation collaborates closely with global and regional Risk & Resilience teams, as well as cross-functional partners, to streamline data processing, automate tracking, and elevate analytical capabilities across risk, resilience, and business continuity functions. A typical day includes:- Leading the management and optimization of global risk data pipelines to ensure integrity and accuracy.
- Identifying automated solutions for tracking, reporting, and proactively managing global and regional risk, resilience, and business continuity.
- Supporting technology integration initiatives that enable risk & resilience operating model.
- Collaborating with engineers and analysts to improve data and system performance.
Working in partnership with our stakeholders, we secure the Amazon supply chain end-to-end.
The Global Risk Management & Resilience team creates and maintains a comprehensive risk framework to ensure continuation of our business, providing risk oversight, risk preparedness, contingency planning and incident response as a service to Business and operational Security & Loss Prevention Teams.
The team provides strategic, tactical and operational mechanisms by working closely with global and regional business leaders and support functions.
The team leverages advanced analytics and technological solutions to assess risk level changes, drive increased preparedness, and enable business adaptation to changing risk conditions.- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with SQL and Excel
- Experience in risk analytics, data management, technology-driven risk management.
- Knowledge of Python, or other data processing tools
- Ability to manage and optimize databases to support risk monitoring and assessment.
- Track record of leading complex, global risk management programs and digital transformation initiatives.- Experience in program or project management
- Understanding of risk modeling.
- Familiarity with AWS tools (Redshift, RDS, SageMaker) for data storage and analysis.
