Programme Manager for Symptomatic and Breast Screening Services

The primary purpose of this role is to be managerially responsible for the Breast Care Centre and for the operational management of the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) for Somerset and the Symptomatic breast service at MPH. To operationally manage the Budget for the Breast Care Centre (Pay and Non-Pay) in line with the Trust's Standing Financial Instructions.
Making sure the maintenance of facilities and equipment is fit for purpose and meets NHS BSP standards including mobile screening services and at all stakeholding trusts in the screening pathway Understand and manage RTT and cancer performance for the symptomatic service.
Have oversite of clinical governance, respond to PALS and Complaints, manage incidents and risks Contribute to and lead service development To work with the Director of Breast Screening and Superintendent Radiographer to ensure the provision of work practices provide a comprehensive, high quality screening service, operating within Screening Quality Assurance Service (SQAS) guidelines.
This involves working closely with a multi-disciplinary team. To be responsible for ensuring the operational delivery of Screening services, leading and effectively implementing change management initiatives to improve service provision at all local and national levels and ensure performance targets, objectives and waiting times are met.
Accountability of the production and management of a 3-yearly schedule ensuring approximately 75,000 eligible patients are invited for breast screening. To lead on the administrative implementation of the screening programme in conjunction with the Screening Director, Superintendent Radiographer, Commissioners and the NHSBSP.
