This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse with experience in caring for babies and children with tracheostomies to join the RMCH ENT team as a permanent Tracheostomy Specialist Practitioner.

The post holder will be a member of the tracheostomy MDT and work closely with the ENT and nursing teams throughout the hospital to ensure that children and their families receive quality care and have a positive experience before and following formation of a tracheostomy.

They will also support a high standard of ongoing care to all tracheostomy patients admitted within RMCH and babies in St Mary’s Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Within this post you will support the pathway for patients and their family before and after the formation of tracheostomy, help staff in the development and maintenance of skills in tracheostomy care through teaching sessions, maintain a high standard practice throughout RMCH/NICU and work cohesively with community services and local hospitals to ensure that patients receive a consistent standard of care after discharge.
