We are looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of Design and Technology. The candidate will work alongside members of the department to ensure that the curriculum is delivered in line with the school ethos, policies and procedures.
The strength of the Design and Technology faculty is the breadth of the courses and opportunities offered to pupils at KS3 and KS4. The KS3 programme of study includes six modules throughout Year 7 and a more in depth study of these modules in Years 8 and 9.The programme of study at KS3 has been devised through team work and taught using shared resources. The faculty offers Electronics, Food, CAD/CAM (Laser cutting and 3D printing which is used regularly to enhance pupils learning), Graphics, Resistant Materials and Textiles at KS3 in modular units.
At KS4, pupils are offered AQA GCSEs in both the Food Preparation and Nutrition course and the Design and Technology course with material specialisms in Timbers (Resistant Materials), Electronics and Mechanical Systems, Papers and boards (Graphics) and Textiles.
