Job overview
To manage a defined and varied caseload of community based clients withlearning disabilities and additional needs. Using specialist Occupational
Therapy skills and evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. You will work with clients in the following areas Sensory Integration, Activities of Daily Living and Engagement and meaningful activities.As well as other interventions relevant to individual client need.
As well as working directly with clients you will support stakeholder approaches to client care and interventions.

To supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placement.
To hold and manage an client caseload independently
To provide leadership for junior staff, as delegated by supervisor
To participate in the development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy and Learning Disabilities Services within a designated team, under the supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist (Band 7).
To participate in multi-disciplinary assessments and interventions.
To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highestprofessional standards of practice, through active participation in
internal and external CPD training and development programs
To participate in multidisciplinary pathways which may includeAutism/dementia and Eligibility.

Training and qualifications
Essential criteria- Degree in Occupational Therapy with 18 months experience
- Willingness to participate in other related training, as deemed appropriate by SHSC
- professional registration
- Post Graduate training in Sensory Integration
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of and evidence of interest in working in a role with people with Learning Disabilities
- MDT working
- Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Experience of delivering training
