You will work for a very well established, stable, and rapidly expanding Media Publishing business, headquartered in the heart of central London.

Your new role

In this newly created permanent Accounts Payable Supervisor job, you will report to the Group AP Manager and support them with the day to day running of the department, overseeing five AP Assistants. This role has come about due to business growth and provides a key opportunity to build upon existing skills for someone who has been a 'go to' senior person in an AP team, or someone with more extensive supervisory experience. This is a hands-on role in which your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Responsibility for three territories - UK, USA and Australia
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Investigation and resolution of supplier queries
  • Reviewing aged creditors (monthly)
  • Oversight of the preparation and execution of twice monthly payment runs
  • Month end AP close and reconciliation
  • Supporting with ongoing improvement of processes and procedures, providing ideas and insight from an AP perspective
  • Training new payable staff and providing ongoing upskilling to the existing team, based in UK, USA and Australia
  • Monthly AP reporting (KPI reports)

What you'll need to succeed

This role will suit a 'go getter'; someone who uses their initiative, and thinks outside the box. You'll evidence recent and relevant experience working in a Senior Accounts Payable or AP Supervisor role, with the ability to ensure that the team are meeting deadlines.
This is an intense role which is fast-paced and rewarding, working within a friendly and high-performing team. You will be a focussed and process-driven individual with great attention to detail, a team player with a friendly persona, and a positive and driven outlook.

You will possess intermediate Excel skills (inclusive of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables). Previous experience working within the publishing industry is highly advantageous, but by no means essential. You will work very closely with the Group AP Manager, providing day to day support to the team, effectively communicating progress and any issues which may arise.
