Research Technician in Neuroscience of Memory

We are seeking to appoint a research technician in Professor James Ainge’s lab in the School of Psychology & Neuroscience. The technician will join a vibrant research team examining the brain mechanisms that support episodic memory, the memory for our everyday lives.

We use a combination of state-of-the-art neuroscience techniques (including high density electrophysiology and genetic manipulation of the memory circuit) and innovative behavioural testing of memory in rodents.

Candidates should hold an appropriate academic (e.g. BSc. Psychology or Neuroscience) or technical (e.g. HNC/D Animal care, IAT diploma in laboratory animal science and technology) qualification and have experience of working with laboratory rodents.

Key duties will include managing day-to-day running of the lab, managing mouse colonies, behavioural testing of mice and histology / imaging.
