The Trustees of George Dixon Academy are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to the following post from April 2025:

Head of English

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified member of staff to lead our English department. We require a confident, creative and enthusiastic leader who can contribute fully to the future development of our English department and wider school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Raise achievement through motivating, challenging and inspiring our pupils;
  • Have a commitment to inclusion;
  • Help foster a culture of high expectations;
  • Help drive our school values of being Grounded, Determined and Sincere;
  • Have opportunities to contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school.
