About Department

Be the face of change at a fast-moving university. At the University of Derby, everything we do is driven by delivering excellence and opportunities for our students, our staff, and our region.

To support this the University's Change and Portfolio Management Office (CPMO) and Strategic Insights and Planning department provides project and change management expertise to successfully deliver strategic projects and programmes more effectively and consistently with both internal and external stakeholders.

As a Senior Project Manager, the post holder will be engaged to lead projects working with colleagues across the University of Derby to ensure that desired outcomes and benefits are achieved.

About Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will work on key projects across the University, using your skills to ensure that projects remain on track with regular reporting through governance. You will work extensively with stakeholders, including senior leaders, to plan and deliver the required work, identifying risks and resolving issues as they arise.

About You

We need high calibre professionals like yourself to make it happen: people who can draft persuasive business cases, elicit requirements from users, support users through the change to their ways of working and assist senior leaders in their role on a project.

You do not require a background in higher education to join us, but you will certainly be able to demonstrate an impressive record of adding value to large, complex organisations and deep understanding of delivery, projects and best practice in your sphere of excellence.
