Class Teacher (EYFS)

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Board of Trustees is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and dynamic EYFS Class Teacher to complement our hard-working team from April 2025 (Summer Term) onwards, who will:

• inspire pupils, colleagues and parents;
• drive teaching and learning in the classroom and through strong subject leadership and as part of a curriculum team;
• bring fresh ideas and challenge; have high expectations for themselves and all our pupils;
• be resilient and have a positive mind-set to work in this fast-paced and exciting environment.
• strengthen the EYFS phase with a wealth of experience
• have strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and early learning pedagogy
• model and understand what great teaching in EYFS looks like
• can bring commitment, enthusiasm and energy to this post
• demonstrate excellent emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in partnership with our staff; a range of professionals, partners, pupils, parents and trustees
• be generous with their time because they want the very best outcomes for pupils

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Plan dynamic, engaging and progressive learning experiences that foster pupils’ development by:
• Setting clear, purposeful learning objectives tailored to the subject matter and children’s abilities.
• Considering individual needs and interests to deliver meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
• Designing stimulating tasks for whole-class teaching, small group work, and child-initiated exploration.
• Establishing clear targets that build upon pupils’ prior achievements.
• Develop and maintain a vibrant, inspiring classroom environment that encourages curiosity, excitement, and independent exploration. Establish a safe, clean and secure learning environment.
• Use assessment data to track pupil progress, inform future teaching strategies, and guide lesson planning.
• Have a good understanding of the end of key stage expectations to ensure that all pupils make expected progress towards aspirational targets
• Champions our high standards of pupil behaviour and expectations of good character
• Seek and implement creative opportunities that support children’s spiritual, moral, social, and cultural growth.
• Use a variety of teaching methods to capture children’s interest; think ‘out of the box’ and contribute to our vision with their creativity

• Uphold and promote the school’s ethos and values. To be a good role model for the children.
• Follow school policies, including those related to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.
• Collaborate with staff and communicate professionally with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
