We are recruiting a Museum and Collections Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 14 HoursContract Type: Part Time/Fixed Term until 31-03-2026
Location: Museum Stores
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Regeneration Services Team..
We pay an attractive salary of £11,562.86 - £12,624.97 Pro rata and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The role of a Museum and Collections Officer is to care for and archive the museum collection to the standards required for accredited museum status and the Museums Association Code of Ethics.
The role will also include the development and implementation of a programme of deaccession of artifacts where appropriate, experience of working with Modes database or similar is essential.
Whilst predominantly based at the Museum stores, working at alternative locations including the Winding House in New Tredegar.
For the role, we ask that you have:
A Relevant Level 6 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example Museum Studies or Cultural Heritage Studies.Experience of working in a museum, gallery or heritage environment.
A flexible and adaptable approach to working hours as some unsocial hours may be required.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business purposes for off-site working.
