The role

Are you ready for an exciting career opportunity? SSE are looking for a Strategic Procurement Officer (SPO) to join our HR & Professional Services team. This is your chance to thrive in a fast-paced environment where you'll take charge of sourcing and post-contract management within the professional services category.

You will
  • Support the wider Category team in the development of sourcing and post contract management strategies to drive compliance and efficiencies, mitigate risk and drive down the total cost of ownership to the organisation.
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders and suppliers throughout the procurement lifecycle to secure the most appropriate and innovative outcomes.
  • Carry out commercial analysis of contract/ tender submissions, negotiation and drafting of specific contract terms and recommend the appropriate contract award.
  • Support the on-going management of our Managed Service Programmes (MSP), by acting as a key point of contact with suppliers and a wide-ranging customer base.
  • Build strategic relationships with our Managed Service Partners and 3rd party supply chain to drive innovation and maximise savings opportunities.
You have
  • Experience in category sourcing activities together with supplier negotiation and contractual terms.
  • Experience in running end-to-end high value regulatory procurement projects.
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills that enable you to comfortably work across all levels within the business, whilst having the confidence to challenge the norm and think creatively.
  • The ability to be self-motivated, commercially astute and have strong problem-solving skills.
  • The aptitude to be comfortable working to deadlines, being able to change priorities whilst managing own time effectively.
