Risk Information Analyst (RIA) | Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Working as a member of the Compliance and Risk Management Team within Berkshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust the Risk Information Analyst works with various client groups.
The RIA is responsible for supporting the design of, creation of, and helping to ensure, the provision of, comprehensive and proactive information relating to specialist bespoke Integrated Risk Management Information Systems and client facing literature, as well as providing highly specialised and complex support for designated client groups`national, regional and local returns, reports and ad-hoc requests using appropriate specialist skills and tools to analyse and transform complex data into useable, pertinent and presentable information using both creative and technical skills.The RIA will assist the RIM to create, develop and adapt complex software/web sites using their specialist knowledge to assist in the roll out of new reporting systems and ensure best representation of the department.
The RIA must have a basic knowledge of the Trusts Complaints, PALS, Serious Untoward Events, Risk, Claims and Litigation policies and procedures to allow the RIA to ensure provision of best practice and that all information is processed in line with current legislation.They will be aware of the highly sensitive, potentially contentious, nature of the information involved. Assisting the RIM and client groups to create an operational framework that will enable them to achieve and set out long term goals.
- Provide a comprehensive information function for the clientorganisationsand within the allocated service group. This will include the use of the Oracle Learning Management System to provide training and ad-hoc information queries and the production of national, regional, local returns, comparative analysis of secondary, community and primary care data to support the performance and commissioning of clientorganisations.
- Assist staff in the use of complex systems and in writing meaningful reports, using a number of specialist tools and databases.
- Attend meetings as required. To ensure information issues are represented, understanding is transferred and forging closer working relationships with the Trust Client group.
- Working as part of the Risk Management Department with an evolving client service group, providing countywide specialised support and sharing best practice with the Risk Management Team.
- Develop expertise in complex data mining and query analysis. Using expert judgement to make amendments if necessary with little or no outside help.
- Use ownjudgementin determining what analytical methods, including inferential and descriptive statistics, would best fit to interrogate and investigate data from a wide range of sources, requiring long periods of intense concentration. This information may then be needed to be communicated in a variety of media in an easy to understand non technical language.
