About Our Client

Our client is a large organisation in the Transport & Retail industry with a significant footprint across the UK.

Job Description
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement processes
  • Lead negotiation with suppliers to secure advantageous terms
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Anticipate and manage any supply chain risks
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for logistics management and distribution
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement within the team
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant UK and EU laws and financial regulations
  • Responsible for contract negotiation, commercial terms, renews and end-to-end procurement.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Commercial Manager should have:

  • A degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
  • Proven working experience as a procurement manager or officer with 10+yrs experience
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a knack for reading the market
  • stakeholder management
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Experience in collecting and analysing data
  • Strong leadership capabilities
