Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated individual to join a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.
This role requires strong behaviour management skills, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students who face social and emotional challenges. You will play a key role in helping students re-engage with education, develop positive behaviours, and feel supported in a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and classroom support, keeping students engaged and focused on learning.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning space.
- Build strong relationships with students, offering patience, understanding, and guidance.
- Support teachers in delivering lessons, adapting activities to meet individual needs.
- Help students manage emotions and behaviours in a healthy and constructive way.
- Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help tailor support.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an SEMH or SEN setting.
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
