Senior Communications Officer
Location: Hybrid, London Borough of Harrow, Forward Drive, Harrow, Middlesex, HA3 8NT
Salary: £250 Umbrella rate per day
Role Overview:The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a Senior Communications Officer to join their team. This role requires strong writing skills, media expertise, and the ability to manage both internal and external communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute communication plans to support organizational goals
- Create compelling content for print, digital, and social media platforms
- Manage media relations, including drafting press releases and responding to inquiries
- Oversee internal communications to ensure employees are informed and engaged
- Coordinate public relations campaigns and brand awareness initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure consistent messaging
- Handle crisis communications and reputation management
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in communications, public relations, or journalism
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Expertise in media handling and press release writing
- Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing
- Ability to create engaging video content and visual storytelling
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
